Broken - EpilogueIf you live long enough everything comes round again   
Two years later a child was born, her name was Katie. She cried for all things lost during her first two weeks of life. Many babies retain their most powerful memories of their previous incarnations so many cry for all things lost.  She had pale silver-green eyes that seemed to always know more than she let on and golden blonde hair which throughout her life she kept short and spiky. She lived in America and grew up happy in her home with her two older brothers and one younger sister yet she always had the faintest sense of loss which plagued her.

Broken - Part 18Reikon ripped his hands from the chains to embrace her and prevent her falling. The Anhydrite wand carried on its intended path and he felt it break the skin of his chest. He felt its path through his body and felt it break through his back. Both Reikon and Carla sank to the floor, Reikon holding Carla against him the full implications of what had just happened hitting him finally as he failed the register Kaigan’s outraged cries. He held her closer to him with one arm as he reached round behind him and grasped the Anhydrite wand, pulling it through them both and casting it aside. He had felt the magic, felt it take the part of her that Broken - Part 18

Broken - Part 17Carla awoke to the crushing feeling of hopelessness. She remembered it all; Kaigan’s slave, aka the Head of Art at her school, dragging Reikon who was paralysed by the Smoky Quartz through the sand as she stood fixed in place by Kaigan’s grip on her arm; the strange feeling of being sucked through time as they travelled to the old warehouse they were in now; being chained in the corner before Reikon was strung up on the wall opposite her position in the corner. He was currently unconscious and hanging from the ceiling, exactly the same condition he had been in previously before she had succumbed to drug induced sleep. She sat crouch Broken - Part 17

Broken - Part 16The sun rose throwing hues of pink and gold across the sky, ranging from the soft to the firey. Reikon sighed and closed his eyes, feeling the sun creep slowly across the ea and then up the beach, bathing everything in welcome light, warming the world. He smiled as sun beams traced up his legs, over his chest and then kissed his face. He marvelled, not for the first time, at how the mere presence of sunlight could suddenly make everything seem much brighter and less hopeless.  He watched as the sun inched over Carla as she lay asleep, kissing her skin and bringing to a golden glow before dancing patterns over her face.
